Cell Culture

Aims: Establishment of our own research model systems for subsequent bioanalytical processing.

Procedures: Cells are purchased or isolated from clinical materials such as blood and tissue samples by a combination of digests, differential centrifugation and and application of magnetic beads. Isolated cells as well as co-cultures are treated in vitro for functional stimulation or with various drugs. Phase contrast and fluorescence microscopy is applied for cell characterisation. Cells are tested regularly for potential mycoplasmic contaminations.

Results: Robust and reproducible model systems based on primary human cells for inflammation, tumor-stroma interactions or drug actions.
